| Life is Hard...Don't Make it Harder | |
"Mercy, Mercy, what on earth am I going to do now?"
Sound familiar?
I mean, nothing is going the way I expected it to...nothing. If anything, every thing is going wrong. I just don't understand it. I've done every thing right...I've prayed and prayed and prayed... but, still nothing. What am I going to do now?

Hello Everybody,
I understand this kind of frustration all to well. I have a pretty thick head. I can be extremely stubborn and independent. My self-will is what kept me alive all these hard years...our has it?
'Well, sure it has, at least for me,' you might reply.
You know, all too often when we pray and ask Jesus to "take" the problem we are facing we tend to hold onto it and resolve it ourselves. Our self-wills kick-in like an auto-pilot with a mind of its' own, and we become controlled by its' desire to succeed and see the matter through.
Independence is a learned behavior; it is what our human culture teaches; it teaches us to be self-reliant and to think on our own. To give something over to Jesus takes trust in the salvation He has given to us freely... we need to trust in His grace. If we cannot trust in His grace...the forgiveness of our sins...how can we trust Him when we hand something over to Him?
When we pray we must believe that He has heard us and our prayers are pleasing to Him.
We also must believe that our prayers are effective and powerful, because the Authority 'of' and 'in' the Name of Jesus causes the Heavens...the entire universe..to come to attention!
We must believe that our prayers will be answered by Jesus and not by our own strength of self-will.
You know, many people when they start a ministry or a new business or any kind of new enterprise they dedicate the 'work' to God. They ask Jesus to bless it and to make it prosper. But all to often self-will kicks in and they try to resolve any problem they might be having on their own.
It never works. If anything, it will become a 'house' divided and will fall.
Jesus is Lord!Jesus is the King of all Kings!Let Jesus be what He is, and we are to remain as we are...His servants, always trusting in His authority, power, and faithfulness.
Don't make life harder then it needs to be. Life is hard enough. Trust Jesus to be Lord and Master over every area of your life.
Jesus loves you!
